I acknowledge that I have read and understood the Terms & Conditions

Please accept the Terms & Conditions for Auto Replenishment Service before adding the item to cart.

Terms
The following are the terms and conditions ("Terms") for the Canon Canada Inc. Auto Replenishment System (the "Service"). These Terms are between you and Canon Canada Inc. ("Canon Canada", "we" or "us") and govern your and our respective rights and obligations relating to the Service. Your use of the Service is also governed by the shop.canon.ca Terms of Use and our Privacy Statement, each of which (as changed over time) are incorporated into these Terms, and all of which govern our respective rights and obligations concerning the Service. By placing an order through, or otherwise using, the Service, you accept, and agree to be bound by, these terms, conditions, limitations and requirements. Please read these Terms carefully.

Service
We reserve the right to change the Service benefits, including discount amounts and eligibility used to determine discount amounts, at any time in our sole discretion. All such changes will apply to future orders.

When you are enrolled, the Service will automatically create a new order for Eligible Products according to the shipment schedule applicable to the frequency of the Service you have selected, until you cancel.

We may, in our sole discretion, terminate your enrollment at any time without notice. If we do so, you will only be charged for orders that have been shipped to you.

Eligible Products
The eligible products that may be ordered through the Service (the identity of which are subject to change) are set forth on the product detail page on the Canon Direct website (shop.canon.ca) with the option to select the Service displayed (each, an "Eligible Product"). Your participation in the Service is personal to you, and you may not assign or transfer your enrollment, or any of the benefits of the Service, to any third party without our authorization. The Service is only available to customers with valid shipping addresses in Canada.

Offers, Orders and Returns
Discounts and any limited time promotions associated with the Service apply only to Eligible Products displaying the offer message on the product detail page on the Canon Direct website (shop.canon.ca). Discounts and any amounts from limited time promotions that apply to your order, if any, and which are still in effect, will be automatically deducted from your order.

Some offer details may change as you receive deliveries over time (for example, price, taxes, availability and shipping charges). If an Eligible Product is unavailable when we plan to ship it, we will notify you that we are unable to process your order, and we will wait to process your order until the next scheduled shipping date when the Eligible Product is available. When the Eligible Product becomes available, the price will be the price when you ordered it, regardless of when it becomes available.

Returns of Eligible Products under the Service are subject to our return policy. Service enrollments are void where prohibited.

Enrollment
As part of your enrollment in the Service, you will be required to register with us so that your printer can be identified as participating in the Service. Instructions for registering your printer are contained in the introductory email sent to you after you apply for enrollment in the Service, as well as in the "My Account" section of the Canon Direct website (shop.canon.ca). You will be required to accept terms and conditions provided by our parent company, Canon Inc., as part of registering your printer. Canon Inc. will notify us when an ink or toner cartridge reaches a certain low ink/toner threshold, and we will fill an order for the ink or toner and ship it to you under these Terms. Information provided to us and Canon Inc. may be stored on servers outside of Canada and will be subject to our Privacy Statement. It's possible that your order for Eligible Products will not arrive prior to running out of ink or toner where your use was more than usual, particularly if such greater use occurred over 1 or 2 days.

Payment and Cancellation
The total cost charged to your payment method for each order under the Service will be the cost of the Eligible Product on the day that order is processed, less any discount offered as a percentage or dollars off at the time you registered, plus any applicable sales tax. We reserve the right to modify or cancel any discount offered at the time you registered for the Service, with notice to you, and future orders fulfilled under the Service will reflect any such change.

For each Eligible Product shipped under the Service, you authorize us to charge the payment method used when you enrolled unless otherwise directed by you. If we are unable to complete your order with the payment method you used when you enrolled, we will not fulfill the order and will notify you that your payment method needs to be updated.

Your enrollment in the Service will remain in effect until it is canceled. You can cancel or modify your enrollment at any time via the "My Account" section of the Canon Direct website (shop.canon.ca). If you cancel or modify your enrollment after an order has been processed, you will be charged for the order as processed. If the discount for such Eligible Product changes, the new discount will be applied to your future shipments of that Eligible Product. If, after enrollment, you are no longer in possession of your printer for any reason (e.g., due to warranty return, replacement, or exchange), the total cost for the Service will continue to be charged to your payment method until you cancel your enrollment. No refunds will be granted because of your failure to cancel your enrollment in such situation.

Your rights under these Terms will automatically terminate without notice if you fail to comply with any of its terms and conditions. In the event of such termination, we may immediately revoke your access to the Service. Our failure to insist upon or enforce your strict compliance with these Terms and will not constitute a waiver of any of our rights.

Changes to Terms
We may, in our sole discretion, change these Terms without notice to you. If any change to these Terms is found invalid, void, or for any reason unenforceable, that change is severable and does not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining changes or conditions. YOUR CONTINUED PARTICIPATION AFTER WE CHANGE THESE TERMS CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THE CHANGES. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO ANY CHANGES, YOU MUST CANCEL YOUR ENROLLMENT.

Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability
UNLESS SPECIFICALLY REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, CONCERNING THE SERVICE INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WITHOUT LIMITING THE PRECEDING SENTENCE, UNLESS OTHERWISE REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL OUR, OR OUR LICENSORS’, AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS WITH RESPECT TO ANY CLAIM EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00).

Features

Simplicity & Power. The Canon EOS R8Simplicity & Power. The Canon EOS R8

The Lightest Full-Frame Canon EOS Camera1

Weighing less than a pound (body only), the EOS R8 camera is incredibly lightweight and compact while offering a high-quality full-frame imaging experience, utilizing the RF lens mount and providing access to a catalog of high-performance creative lens options. This offers photographers and content creators a convenient and portable camera in a comfortable, ergonomic package for travel, hiking or everyday shooting.

High Image Quality Featuring a 24.2 Megapixel Full-Frame CMOS Sensor

The EOS R8 camera captures stunning, detailed images with speed and accuracy, even in low light, due to the Canon-developed 24.2-million-pixel CMOS image sensor and DIGIC X Image Processor. The full-frame sensor allows for improved resolution at low ISO speeds and low noise at high ISO speeds, wide dynamic range of still pictures, and significant improvement in rolling shutter compared to previous Canon cameras when shooting fast-moving subjects and quick panning.

In-Camera Compositing

With its built-in image processing, the EOS R8 camera provides in-camera compositing including Moving Subject HDR, Depth Compositing, Panoramic Shot, HDR Night Scene, and HDR Backlight control so you can capture creative imagery that is challenging with conventional single-shot techniques.

High-Speed, High-Precision Autofocus

Dual Pixel CMOS AF II is a highly responsive system that covers up to approximately 100% x 100% of the picture area, breaking the image into up to 1,053 automatically-selected AF zones during Whole Area AF. This enables outstanding AF coverage on the EOS R8 camera, and the compositional freedom to focus sharply on a subject nearly anywhere in the frame.

Accurate Subject Detection and Tracking

Developed using Deep Learning Technology, horses, trains, and airplanes are detectable, in addition to conventional subjects like people, animals including dogs, cats and birds, and vehicles — cars and motorcycles — especially in a motorsports environment2,3. For more ease of use, Auto mode is now available, in which the camera automatically selects the type of subject without the need to switch the Subject Detection setting in the menu. The EOS R8 camera will continue to track the movement and continuously focus on the subject.

Animal Detection

Effectively track the whole body, face, or eye of cats, dogs, birds, and now horses, for speed and precision — regardless of the animal’s size, posture, or orientation of the face2.

Head, Face, and Eye Detection

The EOS R8 camera can locate and focus upon a person’s head, face, or eye when the Subject Detection menu is set to People. This allows for more ease of use, fast acquisition of your subject, and improvements to accuracy when capturing videos or still images, even in difficult shooting situations where many cameras may struggle to detect a subject. Additional control is now available for detecting the subject’s left or right eye – which can be also programmed to a Custom Button making it easy to focus on the preferred eye in the moment.

Ample Features for Video Creators

With video recording features such as 6K oversampled uncropped 4K movie at up to 60 fps, Full-HD High-frame rate movie recording at up to 180 fps4, and Dual Pixel CMOS AF tracking, the EOS R8 camera makes it easy to step up your video content.

Continuous Movie Recording That Exceeds 30 Minutes

The EOS R8 camera can continuously record 4K UHD or Full HD video for up to 2 hours at 29.97 fps, allowing you to set up your video and keep your project rolling without worrying about it stopping5.

HDR PQ / Canon Log 3

Though the EOS R8 camera can record impressive video straight out of camera, content creators looking to take the next step in their imaging journey have the choice of two powerful video recording options in HDR PQ or Canon Log 3 video recording. With HDR PQ recording a 10bit colour file is recorded that does not require additional editing, this 10bit HDR file is compatible with HDR displays such as TVs, monitors and smartphones which display your video with even more colour accuracy and dynamic range than standard displays. For creators who like to edit their video files, Canon Log 3 is available, creating a 10bit log file which allows for powerful recovery of highlights and shadows as well as creative colour grading capability.

UVC Livestreaming

UVC/UAC compatibility allows the EOS R8 camera to be used as a web camera to stream live video in Full HD, without additional computer software, to applications such as Zoom™, Microsoft Teams™, Skype™, and similar video conferencing software7. Thanks to the full-frame image sensor, you’ll be able to have versatility in your exposure, as well as strong background separation when using bright aperture lenses for video conferencing, or livestreaming content.

Vertical Movie Mode and Aspect Markers

Movie rotation information can be set during or after movie recording, allowing videos to be played in vertical composition when viewing on a smartphone. The Aspect Markers Function displays visual markers for different aspect ratios that may be desired for posting the same file to various social media sites. This display provides consideration for proper composition for the different deliverable files that can be created when editing.

Movie Digital IS

Record stable videos efficiently with minimum equipment, even when shooting handheld, with Movie Digital IS 5-axis image stabilization6. Camera-shake vibrations are reduced even more through coordinated control of Movie Digital IS when using a RF lens featuring optical image stabilization.

Vari-Angle Touchscreen LCD

Featuring a 3.0-inch, 1.62 million dot Clear View LCD II Vari-angle Touchscreen LCD, the EOS R8 camera makes it easy to compose and shoot from virtually any angle. With touch and drag functionality, you can intuitively and swiftly move the autofocus point on the touch-panel LCD.

Precise Electronic Viewfinder

The EOS R8 camera is equipped with a high-precision 0.39-inch OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) EVF with approx. 2.36 million dots and a 22mm eyepoint which displays a bright image and extensive shooting information. The EVF supports up to a 120 fps refresh rate and has been designed to provide a bright, sharp and colourful 100% view of the subject at hand. There’s also an Optical Viewfinder (OVF) Simulation setting, which provides a higher dynamic range viewfinder image for outstanding viewing in harsh, contrasty lighting situations.

Shoot, download and share with Wired and Wireless Communications

The EOS R8 camera supports both wired and wireless connections to your smartphone via its USB Type-C7 port, built-in Wi-Fi®, and Bluetooth® technology, making it easy to upload and share movies and photos to your favorite social network services.

Shutter

Type

Electronically controlled focal-plane shutter

  1. Electronic first curtain

  2. Electronic shutter

* Not equipped with a mechanical first curtain.

* When set to [Electronic], the camera makes no mechanical shutter sound. (An electronic shutter sound can be configured in [Beep] and [Volume: Shutter volume]). Note that the camera may make sounds other than the shutter release sound, such as sounds for aperture adjustment or the lens focus drive, or beeps. Moreover, using long exposure noise reduction with shutter speeds of 1 sec. or longer involves a mechanical second-curtain shutter, which produces a mechanical sound.

* Bands of light may be displayed and captured images may be affected by light and dark banding when shooting under fluorescent lighting or other flickering light sources with the camera set to [Anti-flicker shoot.: Disable].

Shutter Speeds

Mechanical / 1st-curtain Electronic shutter: 1/4000th sec – 30 seconds, in 1/3 or 1⁄2-step increments

Electronic shutter: 1/8000th sec – 30 seconds, in 1/3 or 1⁄2-step increments (1/16,000th possible, if user-set in Tv or M shooting modes)

*1: Not available when set to [Dual Pixel RAW: Enable] (low-speed continuous shooting is used).

*2: With electronic first-curtain, continuous shooting speed is the same for Highspeed continuous + and High-speed continuous shooting.

*3: Slower maximum continuous shooting speed when set to Servo AF with lenses other than those in the lens list attached. For details on lenses that support the indicated continuous shooting speed, refer to the separate lens list.

* With electronic first-curtain, maximum continuous shooting speed is (or may be) reduced in flash photography, anti-flicker shooting, or Dual Pixel RAW shooting.

* With certain lenses, zooming during continuous shooting with electronic shutter may cause changes in exposure even at the same f/number. For detail on relevant lenses, refer to the separate lens list (and note that even with zoom lenses not listed, sudden zooming may cause flickering or changes in exposure).

Off / Moving sub. / Dynamic range

* [Dynamic range]: For each shot, three images are captured consecutively at different exposures (standard exposure, underexposure, and overexposure).

* [Moving sub.]: Output of a wide gradation without causing motion blur due to image composition by one exposure is possible.

* [Moving sub.]: Minimum ISO speed is ISO 800.

* When [HDR mode] is set, [Picture Style] options are limited to [Standard] and [Monochrome], and maximum shutter speed is 1/8000 sec.

* [Moving sub.]: [Electronic] shutter mode may increase subject distortion (due to rolling shutter).

* Shooting JPEG or HEIF images is supported.

* Can be set in conjunction with HDR shooting (HDR PQ), which enables shooting with a wide dynamic range ([Dynamic range]: up to approx. 3000 nits; [Moving sub.]: up to approx. 3000 nits).

*1: Time available for continuous shooting in 23°C / 73°F environment, from a cold start. If the camera is in LV mode standby before shooting or the ambient temperature is high, the shooting time may be shorter.

*2: According to Canon measurement conditions when using UHS-II cards conforming to Canon testing standards.

*3: The maximum duration of shooting may be shorter under some circumstances even if recording begins from "cold start," due to a rise in temperature inside the camera caused by pre-shooting camera setting operations or by prolonged use of the Live View mode. When the card is full, movie recording stops automatically. In this case, duration time when you erase the data and restart shooting.
